About the artist
Breathing new life into textiles, Hua Jia is a fashion designer from Shanghai. Like the spirit of her home city, her designs are multifaceted. A mix of material, technology, texture and colour, she layers old work with new to evolve interpretations.
Shanghai is an old city run on new energy. The skyline of the Bund glitters with colour; its woven into the fabric. The uniqueness of the city makes anything possible. And at Christmas that energy is amplified. It doesn’t follow the traditional rules.
