Since 1972, we’ve been exploring the world, discovering and curating the best ingredients that nature has to offer, to create our beautiful products.
Harking back to that era, there were vibrant clashes of colour, new cultures, exciting new music and a rebellious identity. Musicians including Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and style icons Twiggy and Marianne Faithful were all embracing this iconic phase, and flocking to 1970 meeting meccas such as London’s famous Carnaby Street.
In the early 70’s Carnaby Street was pedestrianised and the iconic ‘Carnaby Street Welcomes The World’ sign was installed, becoming the place to be if you were a creative in search of inspiration.
The design of our 2018 Christmas collection takes inspiration from the stylistic, colourful cues of the 1970s and the famous Carnaby Street – and blends them with contemporary monochrome graphics. It’s a stand-out look and feel for Christmas that is bright, unexpected and shelfie-ready.
This year, Crabtree & Evelyn will reignite the excitement of Christmas by standing out from the crowd and inspiring people to do things differently. Our collection of gifts is aptly named after iconic songs from the period, like Soap Oddity (a nod to Bowie’s Space Oddity), Lavender Haze (inspired by Hendrix’s Purple Haze), Zest for Life (Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life) and The Six Pistols (which requires little explanation).
Our Christmas Collection this year takes its inspiration from the era that we were founded, we draw on the colour, the history, the music and culture of the time to bring our story to life.
Celebrate this colourful history with us as we take a trip back to that time and reinvent the era of peace, love and hope for 2018. Our playful retro patterns are the backdrop to our gift collection, radiating good vibes and making you feel as good as it looks.
